Program Administration
Program Administration
The Engineer assigned to a classroom will administer a written curriculum over the 7-8 week period. The time commitment for the program is 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours per week. This can be done on single or multiple days; whatever fits the teacher and engineer’s schedule. A typical classroom session will involve the Engineer making a 10-15 minute presentation to the students, engaging them interactively to participate and provide thoughts and knowledge of the day’s topic. Then the class turns into an engineering team, mentored by the Engineer, with the task of building a working Rube Goldberg device that will showcase with other fifth grade classes locally and regionally for the top three places.
